5 Point Programmatic Thrust

Since its founding in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has clearly distinguished itself as a public service organization that boldly confronts the challenges of African Americans and, hence, all Americans. For over 40 years, San Joaquin Valley Alumnae Chapter has addressed issues of importance to the Fresno County community through programs, projects and partnerships, including educational scholarships and programs for Fresno County youth, key health programs geared toward improving physical and mental health, and projects which aid battered, abused and homeless women in improving their life circumstances. In realizing its mission, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. provides an extensive array of public service initiatives through its Five-Point Program Thrust:

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a non-profit organization in which no part of the Sorority’s activities shall be for propaganda purposes or otherwise attempting to influence legislation in a lobbying role. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. conducts all of its activities in accordance with the rules that govern organizations whose tax status is 501(c)7.
